Our Story
Hello fellow flower friends! My name is MiKelle Barney. I am a flower farmer growing fresh cut flowers in the Salem Rexburg Idaho area. I’m also a High School Counselor and mother of 6 children. My other hobbies include riding dirt bikes, reading, playing the piano, and of course spending time with family and friends
I would like to share my story of how Krayton’s Garden blossomed into a beacon of joy and renewal in my life. My journey began back in 2013 when I met and married a wonderful man from Rexburg, Idaho. In 2014, we made our home in the charming Salem, Idaho area, excited to transform the two and half acres we now called home into a haven of beauty and possibility.
We were a typical family tending to five children, juggling work responsibilities, and the chaos of family life when tragedy stuck with the unexpected passing of our youngest child, Krayton, at the tender age of four. In the wake of our loss, grief became an unwelcome and constant companion.
Finding my path forward amidst the grief and heartache was a difficult and unchartered journey. I yearned to honor my son’s memory in a way that resonated with my soul, like I had seen so many others do. It was during this period that I found myself tending to my flower beds, seeking solace and simplicity when I had very little to give. Over the seasons, I discovered the profound beauty and peace that accompanies witnessing the growth of flowers. It reminded me that even the most majestic blooms begin their journey in darkness, serving as a catalyst for growth and transformation. Watching this process had a profound effect on me as it nurtured my heart and eventually healed my soul.
